YARD WASTE COLLECTION

VILLAGE OF ALTAMONT RESIDENTS ONLY

           

YARD WASTE COLLECTION WILL BEGIN

OCTOBER 7, 2008

AND CONTINUE THROUGH

NOVEMBER 28, 2008

Leaves raked to the edge of lawn adjacent to the pavement will be picked up by a leaf vacuum machine on Tuesdays and Fridays through the collection period, weather and conditions permitting. 

Please do not place leaves on  pavement or ditches as they could inhibit the flow of storm water. 

Please do not include bottles, cans, branches, stones, or any foreign refuse in leaf piles as they could be hazardous to the equipment and the workmen.

For those residents with bagged leaves and other yard waste, use only biodegradable paper bags closed and sealed, brush and branches no larger than 2" diameter, must be bundled with twine, a maximum of 4 feet in length  and must be able to be lifted to truck by one man.  These items will be collected on Wednesday, through the collection period.  Any yard waste you want to dispose of can be taken to the Town of Guilderland Transfer Station Composting Area.
